Burak Rende has assumed his duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Sierra Leone in November 2024.

He started his career in the Turkish Foreign Service in 1999, has worked in various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs such as Multilateral Economic Affairs, NATO and Euro-Atlantic Security and Defense, Syria and Middle East.

In his overseas postings, he served in the Embassies of Türkiye in Sanaa and Athens, Permanent Delegation of Türkiye to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as the Permanent Mission of Türkiye to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Geneva.

His last appointment at the Ministry’s headquarters was as the Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Director-General of Energy and Multilateral Transportation from 2021 to 2024.
